While other developed countries have taxed gas and used that money to build fast and competitive public transportation The "Deutsche Bahn AG" like most of the national railways systems in Europe operates in deep deficit. All public systems are subsidized to a degree including cars.......or who do you think is building America's freeways and parking garages.....GM? I don't think so. The Europeans who you are so fond of trashing are at least smart enough to know that having an good alternative in place is a good thing......period. ted
