The rightwing loves to bash Carter but not only was he a true honest Christian, but Carter makes Bush look like a common thug when it comes to caring about this country and the world. There were a lot of great things Carter did, and a lot of bad things that happened to him which were beyond his control, and building up since the Nixon years. Like the fall of the Shah and the Arab Oil Embargo. Carter also had to swallow tons of post Vietnam War debt. We spent so much money on that useless war. And yet the rightwing defend it to this day. PS: Guess who made the most money from Vietnam? Bectel and Brown + Root, now Halliburton. Same gougers ripping us off in Iraq now. Both very close to Bush-Cheney. Very-very-very close.
