David, I now see what you meant on the LIFO argument. But I disagree that it could be the reason for the substantially higher revenues and profits for the oil companies. You do not need to take a "intense look" in their accounting. Their revenue is much higher because they are selling their product at a higher price and making more money. I say good, that is capitalism. You say maybe it was some accounting "issue" that is causing all the record earnings and revenues. I don't think that is a reasonable possibility. Mani
