Abstinence education promotes STD's. The rightwing by forcing sex education out of the schools and lying that condomd don't work have created a whole new generation of repressed kids who once they start having sex get a higher percentage of STD's than sex-educated kids and non-abstinence types. The study that came out two weeks ago also shows that absteinence-only has a highf ailure rate as most kids will eventually have pre-marital sex nomatter what their church or parents say, and when they do they have a higher rate of promiscuity, including gay sex. Why is the rightwing so afraid of sex? And dying when you're terminally ill? This is hard to explain, but the sex part may go all the way back to the 5th century (or whever) when the early christian leaders censored sex from the New Testament and made it look like Jesus and Mary were virgins and Magdalene was a whore. So you're either a virgin or a whore in life. That's been the message to girls ever since, and it's patently dishonest. But not as bad as some African tribes which cut off the clitoris of girls to make sure they cannot enjoy sex.
