- You can't just flip an on/off switch on a base-load

why? Will things burn out because even out lower rates of generation the electcity needs somewhere to go?

- ie it's "on" all the time .. The power
- companies need a load during off-peak demand periods
- ie at night .. hence the burning street lights and lit up

but how about using that excess power to drive giant flywheels or batteries or supercapacitors or to make hydrogen, or SOMETHING.... must be some way we can use it.
