Bush-Cheney, after trying to eliminate checks and balances and rise above the law, are now seeing what's happening to Delay and quickly spinning the other direction for cover. Look at this hypocritical quote.

"Bush, declining to endorse DeLay's comments, said Friday that he supports "an independent judiciary." He added, "I believe in proper checks and balances."

Meanwhile the moderate GOP is demanding DElay step down, and even fellow "cultural conservative" (read he who panders to the far right wackos) Rick Santorum sees he's going to be booted next year too and has joined the chorus for Delay to explain himself. By explaining himself, Delay would also incriminate himself, of course.
