Reminds me of that Gary Larson cartoon (The Farside) wherein God put incompatible species in the Earth terrarium, thereby assuring continuous warfare.

Seems like the ME carve up after WWII could have been done more intelligently. Why put three ethnically incompatible tribes together under one border (Iraq)? Makes no sense.

I agree, but the USA is no more to blame for the borders in the ME than the Japanese. The British and the French can take the blame for those borders, and the French seem perfectly happy with them as they are.
