I agree, let the market decide.

Otherwise we will end up with the situation I faced with my toilet, which was designed by some engineer responding to a government edict that it use only 1.5 gallons per flush. The only problem is, I have to flush it three or four times in order to avoid a blockage, thereby defeating the original objective.

And if I ever see that engineer or the politician who caused the overflow I had this morning, I will strangle him bare handed!

Actually big vehicles are NOT inherently safer. It's been well documented that SUVs are far more likely to roll and kill or maim. They do have more cargo space but here in LA you see two types driving most of them.

Yuppies with briefcases.

And Gang members who deal crack and pimp.

Same difference.
