they just want bragging rights for a week having heard about the 21st launch, who knows when the EE will actually be available, it could well be a paper/review launch. It won't be really contested anyway until AMD release a dual-core 1MB s939 FX which is months away anyway. The dual-core reviews have been underwhelming so far and nothing that couldn't have been matched by a dual Opteron now.

Intel looks pathetic, if Digitimes is correct. As their execs just said they were launching in May a few days ago, it looks like they're scared of AMD, and suggests their Smithfield launch will be rather papery.
