>I have never heard of the policy. It seems to me that its discriminatory to distinguish between Catholics and other Christians. After all, communion is the blood of Jesus. Why shouldn't other Christians partake? I wonder how set in stone the policy is? After all, there were non Catholic Christians that participated in the Pope's funeral. Were they denied communion as well?

Ironically, the miracle that's being pushed forth in the attempt to fast-track JPII's canonization was that he cured an American Jewish man's cancer by giving him Communion.

Yes, he perjured himself

That is why he was dis-barred.

"The part when the priest says all Catholics in good standing are welcome to receive communion. I have heard it many times. Maybe Bill had never been in a Catholic church in an English speaking country; perhaps he was not aware it was the same religion..."

I have never heard of the policy. It seems to me that its discriminatory to distinguish between Catholics and other Christians.

I did not say that it is a socially polite policy. It is however their right to have the policy. Would you just walk onto a ship? Would you wear your shoes into a Japanese home? Would you refrain from belching after an Eskimo meal? Each question might seem odd, but one is expected to ask for permission to come abord, remove shoes ina a Japanese home, and belch to show appreciation fo the good Eskimo meal. One is also expected to respect the Catholic customs.

Perhaps Clinton did not know.

"Teddy and John have been forbidden because of their statements on abortion and perhaps other issues."

Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. No wonder the Church is losing members in the US and Europe.

You made comments about how the traditional value states should secede because you don't like our values. You don't like the rules that Catholics agree to abide by. Interesting.
