Klein worked for Punch and never Pinch. He departed the NYT in 1988, Pinch took over in 1992. The NYT was never as obviously biased liberal under Arthur Sulzberger Sr. as it have become under Junior.

The point is that Klein may not be as liberal as his credentials are being passed off as. He may (or may not) be to liberals as Shays, McCain, and Santorum are to conservatives.
