Your numbers are more accurate. I see these articles on cash hoards and their numbers are all over the map. The most consistent way to measure it is definitely looking at ST cash as well as LT investments. Hell, their ST cash number could change in the blink of an eye if they just moved it to LT investments. Looking at ST cash only is silly.

Anyway, Cisco's cash hoard IS down primarily because they have been buying back a ton of stock. I think they bought back something like $8+ billion worth of stock over the last 4 quarters.
