I'm not going to come out in active support of the idea that only men should be priests in the Roman Catholic church but the restriction doesn't make woman in to second class citizens.

But even if it did make them in to second class citizens it wouldn't support either of Amy's confused contentions, that the Church is irrelevant to American woman (in the sense that it is irrelevant to all or almost all of them, not any of them) or that American woman are irrelevant to the church.


I think what Amy is saying that the Church is becoming irrelevant to women given its position on a number of important life issues. I think that might be why membership is declining in the US.

Amy is as much of a nutcase when it comes to discussion of women as Ted is about politics.....
