No, not NZ. Unfortunately, NZ has been voting itself poor for 50 years by electing socialist kleptocrats. The more people become dependent on state handouts, the more addicted they become and the more there are of them. It's a sad spiral. Fortunately there are some countervailing processes, so it has been a slow descent with some redeeming features.

As more and more people abandon NZ, the residue is more and more state-oriented and there's less and less income to go around as layabouts increasingly outnumber producers.
