It's interesting that the Nigerian, Arinze, is #2 on all lists of Papabile, no matter who's #1. But I am amazed that you find this fascinating, LB. Even though I am Catholic, I've always preferred to just let the Holy Spirit do its mysterious thing. ;^)

A Nigerian Pope would be useful against militant Islam in Africa, I think. The Islamists treat people so bad! I was just reading about a poor girl, beaten to death because she was on a date with her fiance, even though her sister was acting as chaperon! The Nuns were rough but they didn't kill people!

New Pope to Face Enormous Financial Issues
