I said all kidding aside regarding invading turkey for water - being sarcastic and trying to make a funny - I know it is easly lost in text messages. However stranger things have happend Zonder. I am sorry if you are offended I got your gender wrong - I probably will make that mistake a lot on SI - i rarely remember names - much less genders.

However I was serious about Mr. Perkins contention that oil and water in iraq were both very important to our reasons for invading - if you feel I am confused about that - you can watch the democracynow.org

Or read the transcript here - let me give you the specific part:

democracynow.org

Iraq had become very, very important to us for many reasons. Its strategic location, the fact it controls a great deal of the water of the Middle East, the Tigris and Euphrates both flow through and out of Iraq and, of course, its oil. And now we're not so sure we can keep the House of Saud in control. It's become extremely unpopular amongst its own people. Over 100 assassinations this year.

I thought I read it pretty clearly zonder - but if you still think I read it wrong, I am open to suggestions - again I ask why would Mr. Perkins say Iraqi water was important and you think that is a joke?
