Yes, it always seems like when big economic news comes out, people with enough money to control the market have decided beforehand which way the market will go... heads you lose, tails I win. Now we just have to wait for the usual ridiculously illogical rationalizations about why it all occured on Bloomberg or CNBC.

Dont be silly.
Everyone and their brother was short the US$ heading into numbers that EVERYONE knew would be horrible.

I came very close to buying gold puts yesterday.

In the middle of a stable range no PPT was needed, just short covering by people playing what they knew to be horrid numbers.

Where was the surprise?
If there was no surprise why should there be a big move in the $?
