Many, Americans have a fighting gene in them when it comes to fighting for a reason. Each of them knows that he is defending the most free, and best, country on this earth, and even if he is killed defending it, he knows that he is dying for his family. Also, the vast majority of those guys that hit the beaches during WW2, were from 17, to 20, years old, and thought they were bullet proof.
