Tim, I wouldn't fault you for that line of thought. Many people meet their maker while sitting in their recliners in front of their TVs.

I have heard cyclists say that had they not been wearing a helmet, they might have been able to better see/hear and thus avoid what they hit or what hit them. I have heard others say that had they been wearing a helmet, they might have avoided the intrusiveness and inconvenience of neurosurgery. - Holly

Besides, if your time is up, it's up. You could be having a
wonderful time in the great outdoors living life to the
fullest.

So things like
(a) Not smoking (Holly? You there?)
(b) Not drinking excesively
(c) Not skydiving
(d) Wearing seatbelts
(e) Not joining teenage gangs
(f) Staying out of fights
(g) .....

has no effect on life expectancy?
