I skimmed the article and didnt see one thing i that i think accounts for some of the anti-americanism in france. Their revolution went awry and ours didnt. British/American way toward democracy with america out front in the late 18th century has been an unabashed success. India is now another great example of this tradition. It is really anglophobia more than anti-US alone. France historically rotated between strongmen and chaotic democracy and their former colonies reflect that problem today. mike
