I understand that you read and speak "Chinese" by which I assume you mean Mandarin.

Can you also read Japanese? Have you read the textbooks in question?

If so can you please tell me who writes them, who publishes them, and who decides which textbooks are purchased.

I agree that war and other hostilities between China and Japan is relevant to booms, busts and recoveries.

Malcolm, when China invaded Tibet, did they pray with the locals to get them to obey or were there some deaths due to being physically disassembled? There was murderous assault.

When will we hear the apologies for the crimes?

Even now, China is planning murder in Taiwan. Are they writing text books now to apologize for their forthcoming crimes? Yiwu the Mad is positively slavering at the opportunity to do some murder to force people into total submission.

When the USA nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they knew very well that they were frying alive, women, men, children, old, crippled, pacifists and anyone and everyone. It was outright genocide to get the Japanese to cave in and accept total defeat.

I'm not sure whether I'd prefer my family fried alive or bayoneted and raped by Japanese soldiers. Either seems distinctly unpleasant. Rape might be preferable because then they would still be alive. I'd also have a chance of the victim being able to identify the perpetrator.

Both were barbarian methods of enforcing total subjugation in eons-old tribal war. Japan was building empire, just as they have seen so many before them, including the British Empire/USA which expanded in genocidal conquest over North America and Australia.

It's future crimes which need to be avoided. Past crimes are been and gone. Right now, Yiwu the Mad and Bubba the Babbling are lining up to conduct murder in Taiwan. Where is their apology. We need one right here in SI. Never mind stuff from 70 years ago for which perpetrators and victims are old and mostly dead.

The number of rapist criminal Japanese soldiers who made it back to Japan and are still alive would be few indeed.

>> You may know that not all Chinese are Han. There are Mongols, Tibetans, Miao and others besides the majority Hans. <<

Exactly. We have 56 dif. ethnic groups. And a lot of us are mixtures of several minorities. I myself for example, do have some blood from some ethnic groups from XinJiang (called "XiongNu" around 150BC), whose race is actually grouped with Anglo-Saxon. One of most famous poet in Tang Dynasty (600 AD or so) named Li Bai (English name Li Po) was originally from He Tian, XinJiang. Around 100BC or so, Han Wu Di defeated XiongNu, and migrated closed to half million of them to Shannxi and ShanXi near Yellow River.
