The problems GBU has in Rosia Montana are not related to Romania's mining policy.

The link above contains a law (in Romanian) which declares a number of objectives in Rosia Montana zones "protected natural zones of national interest".

This means that Gabriel would have to get special favours from the Romanian government in order to start mining there. The same law specifies that they cannot do anything on a radius of 100 meters in towns, 200 meters in villages and 500 meters otherwise.

If you cannot find someone to translate this page, you can still count the occurrences of Rosia Montana on the page.

As far as I know, the law above is still valid and it is not the only one protecting the area.
