Haw haw haw! Yiwu the Mad doesn't need any referenda or voting, she KNOWS just how many clones think the same and they aren't REAL Chinese if they think differently [such as brian h]. <>>I think the Chinese right wing is wrong in going after an apology. It's over. <<

Then most of Chinese are among your so-called "right-wing", at least a billion. And they do not just want an empty apology, they want some kind of compensation. It is not over. History is that easy to get rid off.
>

We all want compensation Yiwu. Whose ancestors haven't suffered at the hands of somebody else? Not many got compensation, though Maoris are getting plenty now, despite being several generations removed from those harmed and despite the fact that neither those paying, nor their ancestors had anything to do with the harm, which was at a time of conflict and conquest anyway. Maoris haven't compensated Moriori for eating them as far as I know.

Japan surrendered to the USA. The USA as chief boss in charge decided who would be compensated and what the post-war rules would be. For whatever reasons, lots of people missed out. I don't see why, when the guilty are dead, or unidentifiable, or very old, and in any event, very few, and their victims were many, the young people in Japan today should pay for the horrors back then.

Anyway, Yiwu is planning more violence in 2005, during the Feather Duster attack on Taiwan, in conjunction with Russia. So bleating about compensation from a lifetime ago seems absurd.

Taiwanese should demand an apology and compensation now, so that Yiwu can start saving money ready to pay for her crimes to be committed later this year.

In case you don't know it, Maurice, at the end of the day, is just a kind hearted curmudgeon.

The American right wing is much nastier. They are looking for a fight. I hope you are not speaking for everyone in China.

I don't think you are. I think China has a tradition of non-violence. I respect that. That is probably one of the reasons why China is not ready for a big fight. It is not in their tradition.

However, with so many people (1.2 billions or so), you are bound to have a lot of stupid people - just as anywhere else in the world. Your right wing hot heads, if you let them, will lead you into trouble.

The problem is, in this day and age, what all the right wing hot heads do not understand is that the past is the past, It is over. We can't go back (this goes for our own hot heads).

All hot heads are willing to die for what they believe in. That would be okay in the old days. You can't do that any more.
