Of course money and jobs and industrial growth are at stake. We live in a Capitalist system, money generally is always a factor, and that's generally to the good. Curing diseases, ending suffering AND making a profit are all good. (Perhaps you can get that through your 'pansy skull', Proconfusion?????) As far as 'what's my point?'... you previously said you were going to 'stay on top' of stem cell developments in MO... so I thought you might be interested in the developments there --- particularly the developments in Republican circles, which is what the article described.
