Yes they did. That was the last straw for SiLK, a spin-on. And then they switched to a modified form of Black Diamond, AMD's choice for low-k. Not that Black Diamond is without its problems, but AMD has had some experience with it...

You could be right, I don't know the process details, only the yield problems that were so well publicized. I can't say conclusively that they won't pull it off, just that it makes sense to maintain a healthy skepticism considering the track record.
