"I think we could move into your $18-$20 range in a week or two."

Well that was ugly! ...but not altogether surprising given the negative tenor of the overall market. We did get our 20M to 30M shares, but the tug-o-war was awfully one-sided.

It's such a shame that flash, once again, spoiled the fabulously positive CPG trend that is now becoming most apparent with revenues and marketshare gains that have now entered their growth phase.

Perhaps the "flash stench" will subside some over the weekend and the Dual Core activity next week will rebuild some upward price momentum.

Once flash is off loaded, AMD with its 15% marketshare and huge growth prospects, owing to its superior product offerings across the performance gradient, will likely attract heavy and positive investor interest. What's more AMD detractors will be hard pressed to play their roles any longer as the competitor's inferior offerings will become that much more obvious, particularly as blades, Dual Cores and Turion 64's are rolled out.

Again though, that was ugly today. Just a shame that flash rained on AMD's CPG party, 'cause AMD's CPG division, with its record revenues and operating profit, does look like it has now entered an awesome growth and profit phase.

Who knows, but now that AMD has taken action to mitigate future flash distraction, I'm guessing that once this latest round of selling subsides (was that a selling climax today?), the first 3 successive green days will signal a prolonged period of price ascension for AMD, one that may build momentum fairly rapid, consistent with the 2 upgrades today.
