BTW, I believe you mentioned a year ago that you (successfully?) made sure your broker could not loan out your shares for shorts?

Someone told me that if you put in a Sell Limit order significantly above the trading range, the brokerage will not loan the shares out (just in case). So if the stock is $20 you put in an order to sell them all at $60, and the broker won't loan them out. I think that is bunk, however.

I called and asked my broker a week ago, and he said you cannot prevent them from loaning them out for short sale. But the turnover on the TD Waterhouse support desk is so high I don't have a lot of confidence the guy knew what he was talking about.

If anyone knows the answer for sure, please post it.
