Hallibruton=asbestos. BigPhrma=Vioxx, Bextrax etc. Instead of holding corporations to a higher standard, Republicans want to hold corporations to no standards. This is AmericanFascism courtesy of Republican one-party rule and the Dems rolling over into 'moderates'. Dems need to take a stand on the issues of: - individual rights - corporate responsibility and liability - civil rights and freedom from government intrusion - separation of powers - right to make choices about your own body - decency, morality and grown up adult values - the work ethic and true competition - investment in the future for individuals and small businesses - progressive taxation including removing all caps on SS contributions (one fell swoop and SS is perfectly secure) - worldwide nuclear disarmament When we get the US of A's house in order and stop wasting money giving it to the lazy, the criminal and the thieving, we can then tackle the other problems: - healthcare safety net for all - financial safety net for all - housing safety new for all - development of new drugs including (horrors!) antibiotics - upgrading education for math and science - systemic poverty If we can blithely waste $300 billion on unnecessary war, we obviously have enough resources to fix everything that ails the USA.
