Shades, That is a bit harsh but still in the Coconut Republic things could turn out that bad or even worse. There is an abundance of women there, one reason being that vast numbers of the young men are abroad, in Saudi working in the oil fields or at sea on a merchant vessel somewhere. Remittances from these overseas workers is the only thing that keeps the economy going. And of course the single gals "want" something from you, mainly a good husband. If you go that route be prepared to become a "remitter" yourself as you will be expected to send some money back to Mama and Papa and maybe a brother or sister or two. But just a little goes a long way there. There are some stinkers there, I've met a few so you need to be careful. One thing that is helpful is that there is a considerable cultural affinity between Americans and Filipinos, with Filipinos considering themselves to be a long lost American tribe of a sort.
