Snowy, I'd have to check the details, but I think Chris de Freitas is saying that any effects are trivial, rather than simply "blowing off the role of increased CO2" from humans. I wouldn't say we have really prevented an ice age recurrence, but if anything that's the direction we are going, with a bit of luck. I might have exaggerated our ability to stop a reversion to ice somewhat.

I'm not in the slightest worried about the amount we've added and seem likely to add. Okay, I'm slightly worried enough that I'm pleased that there are lots of people developing data about what's happening and models for what might happen.

But I'm not worried enough to do something like stop using oil where it's the cheapest idea. Carbon credits seems a dopey idea given what we know. A huge bureaucratic waste of money.
