"An extra week gave them 7.7% more time to sell in Q1 vs Q4, and they have only 92.8% of the time to ship and sell in Q2 vs. Q1. So even with flat seasonality (which is not the case), they would be guiding revenue down > 7%. If they peg Q2 as seasonally down 5%, they have to guide to about -12%."

Let's see what next week brings. AMD's absolute Q1 CPG performance is outstanding with their increase in revenues and operating profit.

I'm guessing that AMD's relative Q1 CPG performance will look spectacular as well, although, as you have pointed out, AMD's relative CPG performance will be mitigated by the additional 1 week of revenues that INTC will be reporting compared to AMD.

Shouldn't take too long before investors take a shine to AMD again now that AMD's CPG division has signalled, by the its sequential revenue growth in the seasonally weak Q1, that it has now entered a growth phase in which revenues and earnings accelerate.
