Except for Big Dog and myself I don't think anyone's given name has ever been posted on this board ----Frank

Well I use my real name because when I first logged on to Silicon Investor in 1997 I did not know my arse from a hole in the ground about computers or the net so used my name instead of an alias. Not that it makes any difference as I have little to add to the board. The energy sector is all I know so I have all my eggs in one basket. Like most folks on this board I have learned which posters have their act together and ignore a lot of the noise. I've made money listening to certain posters and I thank them for their advice.

I thought Ed Ajootian was a real name - but I can't speak for himself. Regardless, I have high respect for the guy whose stock picks are second to none in the last two years in my view. He brings facts and substance to share unlike the half truth from SOB.

I know nothing about energy but my guess of market up or down is correct 50% of the time (hint - I use a coin). Is there a reason to believe SOB's coin is more accurate than mine? I challenge everyone to look back two years to track Ed's holdings before you throw FA out of window.

enough said. heck, Ed doesn't even know there is a fun. Now kb, you can jump on to defend SOB. Yes, you may start with 'who are you, newbie?'

Why the hell do you assume that if you give your real name (what is it, anyway, it's not posted) every one is to assume you're telling the truth while every body else is hiding behind a pseudonym?

OT: I make it a policy to post under my real name because it prevents me from posting insults and poorly thought through arguments. I never want to post anything that I would be ashamed of if my identity were exposed, so I don't use an alias.

In using your real name, you put your reputation on the line when you post, and IMO that imposes a useful discipline.

Not true, obviously.
