Unfortunately Delay's activities have big consequences for all of us. If he was the local dog catcher, no one would care. I'm just waiting until the AMT hits the 30 million people it's supposed to when inflation catches up to it in few years. Them thar's real consequences. $300 B for war, killing SS, killing Medicare/Medicaid, 30% credit card fees, zero liability medicine, zero liability corporations, sky high energy prices, government intrusion into the bedroom and doctor's office, etc. etc. These are all real consequences of political filth exemplified this decade by the Republicans. They have a real effect. Schiavo is important when her tragedy is used to threaten, intimidate and replace judges. Heck, at least one of Bush's nominees thinks women should be subservient to men. Apparently, equality is a quaint idea just like torture is to these guys. Yep, one of Bush's nominees condones torture. These are issues of true consequence. Do you really want to live in the 1920s again? Do you really want the majority to work hard all their lives so that a tiny minority can sit around on their rears and eat bonbons? Is that the USA you envision for your children and grandchildren? Not me. Just as with the rise of fascism in Europe, they are going to look at us and ask WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING? WHY DIDN'T YOU DO ANYTHING?
