i blame the banks taking advantage of people who cannot control their money. these people need help not more cards thrown at them. I expect profits are so huge on credit card rates that the losses are acceptable.

it's like the fast food service stations,, not controls to see what items are stolen just a total. they do not keep track of inventories only total goods and maybe a few fast selling items like cigs. Otherwise the managers have big time trouble to reconcile losses but if they don't find out quickly they are replaced. Why ? it's cheaper to fire them and bring in new managers than do the accounting work and set up controls.
There is so much profit in retail area they accept the loss instead of more controls. sounds the same with credit cards.

You nailed it. This is a huge gift to the banks who will now be protected for not being prudent. The incredible thing is that the average card out there still charges 20+ for balances. Mike
