Alternative labelling...is not a trivial issue. Agreed. I do not mean to imply in any way that all packaging innovation is wasteful PD. Not at all. I was mainly referring to what I perceive as excessive fragmentation of form-factor standards in the flash memory industry. And I do not think it is Sandisk's fault. Americans, particularly creative Americans, tend to be an independent breed [think "cowboys"]. We bristle at the idea of an organization imposing "standards" for us to follow. Such ideas appeal much more to Europeans, used to taking directives from bureaucrats in Brussels. But standards can be very useful: think GSM. Sam
