Accidental and wrongful shootings includes accidents made by police and the military. There are about 1000 to 1500 a year. Criminals are STOPPED by gun use by police and law abiding citizens between 2 million and 2.5 million times a year. Those odds highly favor the use of firearms. If the odds were different, why does every police force in the country carry guns? If guns are so dangerous and so plentiful in police headquarters where are all the police headquarters shootings when a police officer gets angry by a superior or fellow officer? You would think police headquarters would be a war zone based on the cause and effects cited by Brady and VPC. Brady and VPC also cite that more guns equals more shootings. Well look at all the guns carries inside police departments? They certainly must have the highest incidence of shootings then right?
