I agree with you in principle, but I think both parties lost the "exclusively noble methods" ideology a long time ago. Personally I would love to devise a way that less than noble methods would backfire against the perpetrator, republican or democrat. I don't like an "ends justifies the means" attitude. I think that is the devil's argument. This country is very divided. The republicans have attained a slight advantage politically and as I see it pride precedeth the fall and Bush's social security plans could very well end up alienating the population just like Hillary's health care plan did.
