There is a Bengali proverb: 'there may be delay in the house of the Lord but there is no injustice". So I agree with you. It's juts the delay that is sometimes hard to live with. But I do agree that everyone gets their just deserves in the end.

I think the success of the sales job on social security will depend upon one thing. It will depend upon whether the people believe the republicans when they tell them "we just want this to be more secure so when you are older it will still be there".

On the other hand, there are those who believe, myself included, that if the republicans get their way they will bankrupt social security. Grover Norquist sums it up when he say he wants to starve social programs down to the size where he can drown them in a bathtub. If the population realizes that this is the intent of the republicans, they will fail. That end is NOT the will of the people.
