Thank you for your reply, Gregor.

Your thoughts closely match those of my own understanding of God's Word, (Acts 2:4-8). I also recall, I Corinthians 12 with emphasis on verse 10. But what I don't understand is the utterance aloud of a language which I don't understand in prayer situations and praise and worship services. I wish someone could tell me how this type of worship/prayer ever came to be the interpretation of Acts 2:3,4 and whether or not it is biblically sound.

What I do find amazing is the fact that many of those who participate in this practice seem to have the kind of faith which is required to serve God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I recalled the other day, when I was very young and yet old enough to be out of sight of my parents for some time, as I used to walk along the sandy banks of the river alone, I would sing in indistinguishable words aloud. It was a peaceful type of walk, but I don't remember it as being anything akin to the type of unexplainable joy I felt the day I began thanking God aloud, May 9th, standing in the kitchen of our home when a flood of joy came over me as if washing me from the top of my head to the very souls of my feet. This happened over and over as I thanked God aloud.

And when you speak of boldness, I have found in my own personal life, when I start to tell others of my experience that day, their attention becomes focused on what I relate to them. I believe it is the Holy Spirit coming forth using my lips to speak to their spirit, and I pray, planting the seed from which salvation will come unto them also. I do not believe anyone who has ever had such an experience as an anointing of the Holy Spirit can ever deny the presence of the Great I AM.

It wasn't my original intention to use this post as a spring board, but I wish those of you who have a testimony would post it at a thread I started (for your Glory Lord and not my own) called "Jesus is Lord". It can be simple or complex. Just tell the truth. Secondly, please post what you've seen come to pass in your own lives from your heartfelt desire to serve our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. If unbelievers only knew....

May the Lord continually bless you,

Mike Romans 1:16
