Steve, a few might already know the reason why I posted that column. The part I highlighted talks about Jon Will, who attended my high school and graduated in the same year I did. His father spoke at my graduation, and as you can guess, his father is none other than George Will himself.

I haven't heard anything about what Jon is up to since high school, but it's nice to know that he's still living life to the fullest.

Meanwhile, I remember another young girl, the daughter of a college friend of mine. She was five years old when I was a sophomore and her mother was a senior. Cutest and brightest little girl I ever met at the time. Smarter than some of the idiots I met at college.

Both are prime examples of children whose parents chose to take care of them rather than abandon or "abort" them. These are beautiful lives, not "burdens" that ought to be cast off by a society that values life only according to convenience.
