Wave 5 (of your 1) it was and that is still a question in my opinion. I don't know if it is or isn't, and that was the reason I made the post.

It always seems so organized after the facts become more clear.

I know you are a trader.

I caught all the waves and got out of the way of 1.5 of them, but this one is giving me trouble. I held too many weak issues.

I think those that have done the best job may have been the Amelia's; the ones that held GLG issues from 2 bucks.

The thing this experience may have taught me the most is about stock selection, especially important for non-traders. I posted some comments by Swank a while back and here they are again. Some of these little shitters are so appealing, but they can be trouble. I've only had one work out so far, out of 4 I held. On net I am behind in those.

"Trading:

Always distribute/sell channel resistance
Always accumulate/buy channel support
For the first 12 months after hitting channel top, distribute/sell minor resistance at triangle top/speedline.
Always lighten up when the commercials get massively short silver and gold.
Stock Selection:

You should be all in cash or short at the channel top.
In the first 12 months after going to all cash, the large/mid cap semi-reliable companies will outperform, and should be purchased when the XAU is at/near support.
Once 12 months have passed, the HUI, mids/juniors and silvers should outperform, and should be purchased when the XAU is at/near support."

Shack, fwiw I can not get 5 waves on the XAU w/o violations.

Something like this makes more sense to me.

Shack, if we hold here and pop much back above HUI 190, this is more than likely going to go to front burner for me.

We are due for a pop, and that area is the next line for me, for obvious reasons.

This fits with my market views for the year as well. Plus I have already commented on the fact that this wave down from the last Nov IT high looks more like a 3 waver so far to me, instead of a 5 waver.

Maybe it is about time for something other than an ABC correction, complex or otherwise.

A triangle perhaps.
