The majority of Christians dont support the rightwing agenda. It's a minority who are extremely organized politivcally and, I must say, brainwashed by the far-right preachers. They are a remnant of the confederacy as well as a new cult of Armageddon and born again virginity. Frankly, none of them seem to have any grasp on reality, just some of them have a grasp on money and politics. I know because I watched by cousin be suckered into this cult. He suddenly started hating everyone but his church members, lost his job then turned into an alcoholic. A formerly nice guy no one could stand anymore. He actually told me that Mormons ought to be killed. Fellow rightwing Mormons ought to be killed. Ahem. That's when I knew he had lost it. And sure enough he did. If Jesus could speak he'd denounce these charlatan churches preaching hatred and ignorance.
