What the newspapers like NYT, WPo, Chicago Tribune, etc that are losing money might want to consider doing is this: Encourage EVERYONE who ever had a subscrption to email, or regular mail, the paper and tell them WHY they, the former customer, no longer have a subscription.

Are they afraid to do this? Time will tell. Maybe they don't want to know the real answers.
