Karen,

Maybe we could be more civil about this and set a date like they do in Europe. England has set it at 24 weeks - anything before is ok and anything after is illegal. Of course with medical advances they are considering moving the bar to 20 weeks.

Now the pro-abortion types are fighting any such thoughts - they defend 3rd term partial birth abortions with the same fervor they do morning after pills. The anti-choice types want to defend everything. Can there be no middle ground?

Personally I am against abortion, but am also against the death penalty. So I am not defending Ted Bundy and killing viable infants, or defending 1 day old zygotes and looking to fry criminals - but thats just me.

The Euro approach would be interesting for the Supremes to consider - after all it has international backing and precedent.

John

I understand.

No need to even discuss it.

Whatever my position is, you are opposed.

Except of course when you don't have a position. In that case I am wrong and you are right.

Or when you don't know anything about the subject (guns). In which case I am just wrong.

I luv it here. Reminds me of the good old days.

While I am opposed to what I think is your side of this controversy, I think I personally can certainly see the other side. But having said that I might also make a statement like "
It fails to account for the freedom perspective of the infant." Being able to see the other side, and in general having an open mind doesn't mean you don't arrive at conclusions.

Still I can live with the labels "pro-life" and "pro-choice". However many pro-choice people can not. I hear the term "anti-choice" a lot more often than I hear "anti-life" or "pro-death", and frequently the media will not use the "pro-life" term, subsititing "anti-abortion" or saying something about those who oppose "abortion rights".
