OT: tom, or Tom, 2 items. First, you simply must buy a dictionary and learn how to use it. Meretricious (coming from the Latin, meretrix, prostitute) means either lascivious, lewd (a meretricious relationship), or tastelessly showy (think of Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny), gilded (as in chintzy, counterfeit) or blatant, loud. Think of Rodney Dangerfield in his golf outfit, and almost any hip hop or rap music video. It never means insincere, and only means artificial in the sense that a cubic zironium tiara is false. Don't they have bookstores down there in Hilton Head? Second, no, I don't want to know anything more about you than I already know, and not even that much--LOL--but go ahead and post your address and phone number (and social security number if you wish) in your reply.
