My wife entered this country legally on a valid visa. However, they ultimately lost her papers and when she went tor reapply for her visa they said she had the form (it was impossible cause you had to surrender it when arriving). Anyhow, she was technically illegal when I married her and had been for some two years (in those days they didnt enforce the hiring so much as they do now). Anyhow, I took her down to immigration and had it straightened out right on the spot. No one said anything to me that I was harboring an illegal alien. jdn
