BTW, here is the quote:

It's unclear when Spansion will attempt its IPO. When Freescale Semiconductor Inc. spun off from Motorola Inc. last summer, it took more than six months. Like Freescale, which ultimately discounted its offering price, Spansion could face a tough sell to investors.

"You are going to try to convince people to take a section of the company that you are only getting rid of because you don't want it," said analyst Cody Acree with Legg Mason Inc. in Dallas.

Rather than giving its holdings in the new company to existing AMD shareholders, AMD will keep its stake in Spansion.
