OT-kinda, went to grandma's house today some 50 miles away and of about ~30K acres of farmland- about 2% were planting, the rest were- weeds, this is the mississippi delta farmland and every year for the past 15 or so on trips thru it it has never been this bear-en, it was recently cited on local news that the farmers cant afford the fuel costs to run the equipment so the land sits- no wonder we are a net importer of food, I gave some serious thought about grain futures... the farmers are going to need much higher grain prices to offset the fuel costs to farm the few thousand acres I passed-
