LOL!!! What's devastating is 2005 *and* 2006, for Intel.

ephud, If this is anywheres near correct Intel's Whitefield will outperform K9 in Integer, draw far less power and be available a year earlier!

There´s quite a difference between "a year" and "a quarter" in my
book, especially with schedules so far out.

a quarter earlier (Q3/4-07) and yes, the merom/conroe/woodcrest/whitefield cores should be good ;-).

Makes you wonder why Intel will be keeping the P4 core alive in 2006 and 2007 when the higher IPC Yonah line cores will be "there"?

ephud - IF... (a BIG IF)

"If this is anywheres near correct Intel's Whitefield will outperform K9 in Integer, draw far less power and be available a year earlier!

That's devastating..."

Interesting how you don't consider the inverse situation right now devastating for Intel.
