The libs don't know what it means to be charitable...if they do part with their own money, they want the world to know it.

American society has become one of self-indulgence. People like you who have egalitarian motives are to be admired. The two charitable reason I know of for donating are: the moral obligation to help those less fortunate; personal satisfaction. Many people do it to get their name in lights, or because they expect the recipient to be grateful. These people are often upset when the recipient shows the contempt they have for their benefactor.

In addition, many want the government to absolve them of their responsibility to help. Indications are strong that as the government usurps greater portions of charitable causes, that private charity becomes a casualty of the usurpation. (Increase in government causes decrease in private charity.) American society has become one of self-indulgence. People like you who have egalitarian motives are to be admired.
